Le Sigh… No
No, I didn’t win, and to my surprise even though they said were looking for someone with my shape and size, a model that was the typical supermodel skinny won the trip. But! I did have 3 call backs for agencies who were interested in seeing more from me.
The general feedback from the agents who were interested in me said that I had a great body, I have great skin and excellent facial features that they felt would look great on camera, yadda yadda yadda.
But the one thing that I they all said that I was so happy to hear, was that one of the things that made me stand out from all of the other models was that I wore my hair in a ponytail.
Yes you read that right, wearing a ponytail was one of the key factors that made ME stand out from the crowd. I asked why that was so important to them, and ALL of the said what I have been preaching on my blog. We need to be able to see your face. Anything that blocks it, makes them think that you are hiding something and they need to be able to see you completely. Your face is the number 1 thing that will make you money in this business, and when its hidden you won’t make money.
Check all of my blog posts (especially this one) about modeling ladies and gents and take heed to my advice when I say WEAR YOUR HAIR OUT OF YOUR FACE!!!! For me, a SIMPLE ponytail was the key ingredient to agencies being interested in me.
